Not gonna lie, I know very little about this movie other than the fact that it’s directed by Quentin Tarantino and that it’s a western. I’m ok with limiting my knowledge to that, for now at least.

Christmas day, only in 70mm film with a wider release in the modern digital format January 8th. That’s the dates, in the States at least. Guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens over here in Oz.

It all sounds a bit strenuous to be honest, but that’s the way to see this movie apparently. My initial reaction was; “I don’t really care for it.” But you know what, absolutely I what to see this in 70mm. Not so much for this movie itself, but for the novelty of the experience. Gimme that.

So, does this mark the beginning of releasing more good quality movies in January—and as a result—removing the stigma towards the month as a whole?

Nah, probably not. But, as an avid movie-goer, I do like this more prevalent early-year releases of decent movies (it’s hard to think that Hateful 8 is going to be anything but) with Kingsman in early February and now this. Still not so convinced on Power Rangers, though.
