Michael Fassbender talks ‘Alien Covenant.’ Scope, pacing, and resolving unanswered questions

During a press junket for Assassin’s Creed, Fassbender spoke with Sky Cinema teasing elements of his upcoming sci-fi thriller, Alien Covenant.

From the sounds of things, as many of us predicted from the trailer released a couple of weeks ago, Alien Covenant will be tonally close to the first few Alien films, whilst maintaining the scope of Prometheus. The latter part of which is…fine.

Fassbender also hints at some much-needed resolutions to unanswered questions from this prequel’s previous prequel. Questions like; Can we pretend that that Alien at the end doesn’t count? How come Noomi Rapace didn’t run to the side of the falling space ship. Are we ever going to fully understand what those Engineer guys were all about? No, fair enough.

Were there Engineer ladies, how did that species work?

Alien Covenant is set to hit theatres May 19th 2017
