New screenshot from ‘Logan’ confirms that Hugh Jackman…is still enormous

Hugh Jackman took to Twitter today and gave us a little tease for his upcoming solo X-men movie, Logan. Check out at the image below with the brief caption “fight or Flight.”

More like HUGE Jackman, amirite guys…g-guys?

(#HUGEJackman)

Seriously though, Hugh is in incredible shape, yet again, for the role. It’s a bitter sweet realisation, knowing that the strict diet and exercise regime is a significant factor as to why this will be his last hurrah as Logan. Because, to be honest, he’s never looked the part more than he does now.

“Fight or Flight”? Let’s be honest, it’s probably fight. How about we take a moment to think of a time Wolverine has run away from a confrontation with such speed, and unhappy facial expression. Oh…that’s right, it doesn’t exist.

What do you guys think about this image, is it getting you excited for the movie?

Logan is set to hit theatres March 3rd 2017.

Jennifer Lawrence wants to play Mystique in the MCU before doing another X-Men movie

During the press junket for Passengers, Lawrence was asked by MTV how she would feel about Joining her co-star in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise. Lawrence responded;

“I would choose that over doing another X-Men…I won’t be Mystique in the X-Men movies, but I would love to be Mystique in Guardians of the Galaxy.”

Given the tone of the interview, it’s clear that this was meant as playful banter with an interviewer. But at the same time…get S@#T on 20th Century Fox.

Now, I’m sure I don’t have to reiterate to any of you that this isn’t going to happen. Spider-man joining the MCU was a one-off that occurred due to Sony’s financial situation.

Fox, on the other hand, is doing quite well with the X-Men franchise. Or, at least, well enough that they don’t need to trade off creative rights to their characters whilst maintaining revenue from them.

Check out the brief video below;

Channing Tatum talks Gambit

channing-tatum-episode-1200x630

In an interview with empire magazine, Tatum talked a little about the style and direction Gambit will take, saying;

“Josh Zetumer just turned in the first draft of the script, and it’s killer. None of us were sure how he was going to deal with the X-Men world. But we’re going to be changing some of the tropes of these movies. It’s always about saving the world (Laughs), but maybe we’re going to shift things a little but. There’s so many ways you can take [an origin story]. You could do it like Batman Begins, or a different take and go the Guardians of the Galaxy route. All I can say is, I’m super excited.”

From his comments, it sounds as if we’re going to get a marriage of Batman Begins and Guardians. As grim and dark as Batman Begins, yet as fun as Guardians? Or probably somewhere in between, either way I’m all about it.

As far as the writing goes, Josh Zetumer hasn’t really done a whole lot. Although the Robocop reboot was much better than it should have been. Not sure how much the script had to do with that, but it certainly didn’t hinder it.

Overall I’m pretty stoked for this movie. Come on 2016.

Josh Boone to direct an X-Men spin-off movie

download (10)

Deadline reported today that Fox have recruited Josh Boone to direct the spin-off of young X-Men characters called; The New Mutants with producer Simon Kinberg stating the following;

“We’re so excited to explore this new part of the X-Men universe, and so excited to do it with Josh, who is uniquely suited to tell this story about young characters.”

Josh Boone directed that Fault in our Stars movie, which is great news. Not just because it was such a success at the box office, but because it was actually accessible to the general public as well as the younger target demographic. But I guess those two things work in tandem with one another.

Given the age of some of the more iconic X-Men characters in Bryan Singer’s X-Men Apocalypse (i.e. Jean Grey, Cyclops etc.), The New Mutants movie will likely consist of Jean Grey, Cyclops, Nightcrawler, and probably Jubilee. However, Kinberg’s comment that they’re exploring a “new part” of the universe hopefully means that we’ll get the original ensemble of New Mutants.

First look at Kodi Nightcrawler-McPhee in X-men Apocalypse

The first official image along with a brief YouTube clip of Kodi Smit-McPhee as Kurt Wagner A.K.A. Nightcrawler, have arrived.

I have to say that I really like this look. The hand and feet makeup both look great, and that tail looks sharp enough to slice a guy’s hand off (although, that’s probably not going to happen). Not so sure about the Spider-man 3-esque emo haircut, though. I guess he is supposed to be kinda young here, so maybe he’s just going through the motions.

The YouTube clip showing off his teleporting with the mist, looks pretty good as well, although it will look even better when he’s actually in motion rather than just a still image.

The only thing left to see now (and I’ve said this before) is whether or not he’ll have an accent similar to Alan Cumming’s Nightcrawler from X2. Even if he doesn’t do anything too exciting along those lines I can be pretty forgiving because this just looks great.

Angel of Death in X-Men Apocalypse?

Brian singer just released some more concept art, for his up-coming X-Men Apocalypse, featuring Warren Worthington a.k.a. Angel.

x-men-apocalypse-production-art-angel-600x351

From the image Angel seems to be in a situation where he is manipulated into being a kind of circus freak show act, probably unaware that there are other mutants out there. It looks like this could be an almost torturous lifestyle for him to live, with him likely thinking that that is all he’s good for. This scenario would easily set up the character becoming the Angel of Death.

If you don’t already know, Angel of Death is one of Apocalypse’s four Horsemen i.e. those guys in the post credits of Days of Future Past. The titular villain is more or less immortal, and so he needs to alternate his crew of Horsemen accordingly. Generally the Horsemen he recruits weren’t bad people to begin with, rather they were merely going through a hard time when Apocalypse appears and offers them an attractive alternative to their reality.

Ben Hardy is currently attached to the project in an unknown role, which has lead may to suspect (including this guy) that he is playing the part of Warren Worthington. He certainly looks the part.

So do you think they’re going with the Angel of Death arc, or will he just be a supporting member of the X-Men?

How much of Quicksilver will we see in X-Men Apocalypse?

Like, I don’t know…everyone else who saw Days of Future Past; I too was excited to hear that we’d be getting more of Evan Peters’ incarnation of Quicksilver in X-Men Apocalypse. How much of him will we get? Peters may have unintentionally revealed this in an interview recently.

images

In an interview with I Am Rogue, Peters said the following;

“I think so, yes. I assume it as well, but I don’t know what I’m supposed to say and not supposed to. I haven’t seen a script.”

These comments make me nervous that he may only have a small role in Apocalypse like he did in Days of Future Past. With production set to begin in April, if he had a more pivotal role surely he would have a script by now.
